| Here
are some photos of the volunteers as they sorted through THOUSANDS
of bags that our generous community donated! |

Carmen
and her beloved baby clothes!

Solomon
tries on some booties that were hand-knitted. Behind him,
Carmen sorts out baby clothes next to a mound of winter clothes
that still need to be boxed. |
|
Later,
Solomon has a discussion with a velociraptor.
"So
I says to him... I says... look, how in the world are you
ever going to keep track of all those cattle?? And he says
to me... he says.... 'with a COWculator, of course' Sheesh.
Makes ya wonder why I'M extinct!"

3-D
goggles are quality tested by one of Curry County's finest.
All items donated are sorted; checked for cleanliness; rips,
tears and stains and then quality assurance tested. Finally,
the items are packed in away in boxes within 13 different
categories, ready for shipment to Baker, Louisiana. |
| I
was fanatical about the taping of boxes. As the Queen of Taping,
I made sure each box was properly closed, with three rows
of tape holding the flaps together. All boxes were inspected
to make sure all loose ends were taped and bottoms were reinforced.
Sandy was our master taper, with Lou D'Onofrio apprenticing...
when he wasn't packing hygiene items. |

 |
Andy
and Janice sort through bags to determine if the clothing
is for adults or for children. |
| Shiray
stands in front of a portion of the stacks of boxes
that are ready for shipment to Baker, Louisiana. Shiray
was team leader in our second location, the former
KayBee toys.... a space that was generously donated
by North Plains Mall manager Cindy Banister. (YAY
Cindy!) |
